History
The Fullerton Arboretum traces its origins back to 1979, spotlighting Fullerton city's resolve to preserve and share nature's splendor. The vision was sparked by Drs. Eugene Jones and David Walkington from California State University, Fullerton. They championed the transformation of a dusty plot into a thriving green museum, with backing from the City of Fullerton and the Ruby Gerontology Center.

The journey has evolved over the years, with the gradual development and binding of distinctive gardens such as the Cultivated Collection, Woodlands, and Mediterranean and Desert Collections. The arboretum features the Heritage House, a beautiful house built in 1894, highlighting the region's cultural history. The house now acts as a historical museum and provides a glimpse into Fullerton's rich historical tapestry.
